ERUDITE OF SENSITIVITY Writing and painting close to the tradition of icons and meditation played a special role in Andrzej Szewczyk's work. Each sheet of paper written by him in ink or ink led him to discover the Book, which - as he admitted in one of his statements - was the Promised Land for him. The presented painting fits into Szewczyk's particularly characteristic works created in the early 1980s, in which you can see shavings of crayons, pistachio shells and wooden spatial objects "written" with cast lead. His works, rich in symbolic meanings and with the particular sensual qualities of the materials used (oak, lead, wax, salt), allow his work to be rooted in cultural tradition.
